The company was founded by Nina Andresen, who was inspired by her travels through Europe. She began hand-making her products by firing her grandmother's old teapots in the backyard of her home in Copenhagen before selling them online to friends and family. Eventually, she decided to set up shop at her kitchen table, with production beginning in her living room. Viva Scandinavia's products are made from products many are familiar with--bone china, porcelain, stoneware--but are created with a Scandinavian design aesthetic. The brand offers a variety of pieces, including teapots, coffee servers, mugs, platters, serving bowls, cake stands, candle holders, tea lanterns, wine coolers, and more. The pieces are made with care using bone china or stoneware for sturdiness and vitrified bone china for its durability. The company also has their own line of bone-china mugs with an underglaze decoration on the inside and outside of the mug to resist fading due to tea or coffee.
