PreFab Houses DesignSource

This is a must have book if you're interesting on prefabrication. It gives plenty modern prefab projects from all over the world with description, images, plan, and details. If you want to find further information, you can find it in the internet. (too bad it doesn't come with date of project so I need to find it by myself-but I personally don't think it gonna be a deal breaker) The price is also reasonable.

This small book is great for building ideas. Buying ideas not so much. Most of the companies are in other countries or out of business. Many of the houses are by architects who never went forward with the concepts beyond a spec house. That is to be expected in an emerging market.

I wish the book had more information in it.

Great book for anyone interested in a pre-fab modern home. Lots of pictures

As we are in the process of deciding whether or not to purchase a prefab, I wanted a book to a)give us an idea of what's available/possible, and b)get us motivated. This little book did both! It's small yet extremely chunky size makes it perfect for taking with us on drives into the country, where we can make big plans on a tiny budget.

It is exactly what I expected.. The book is new and comes in good condition without any damage. Love it

Very helpful

I enjoyed the photos, but learned very little from this book. The book provides none of the promised "how to" or reference materials I was looking for. It is, rather, a very long list of largely same-looking modular buildings listed with the architect and location... And very little else. The photos are mediocre -- publicity shots I imagine -- and the sparse descriptions offer no details of cost, timing, or anything of much use.

Basically a picture book of houses is sunny weather. Very little about how the houses are built or if they work, mostly houses as art. They are all prefab apparently, although there are few where you can tell if they are because there really is none of that info provided for most of the projects. Definitely interesting as a modernist housing survey, not recommended if you want to learn much about prefab houses.
