There are two bars on the back that run the length of the heater and a mounting bracket included that attaches to the bars for mounting to a wall. **Q: does this heater have a thermostat?** A: The Heat Storm infrared heater doesn't have a thermostat. **Q: The user manual states that there is a timer cycle 1-9, but fails to mention the length of the timer cycles. How long are the cycles?** A: Mine does not have cycles. If it's on it's on. **Q: What square footage will this unit heat up?** A: This unit is a radiant heater, it depends on insulations of the room, size etc. It will heat about 5-7 feet directly in front of the heating unit. It feels like being next to a bonfire while it warms up the items in the room that continue to radiate heat for hours after turning the heater off. There's no on/off switch or thermostat but the extra work of plugging it in or out is worth the heat this makes. It mounts fairly easily and the cord is long enough, about 8' or so.
