A beautiful edition with the formatting and all 120 images by Louis Rhead from the edition published in 1915. The cover is an N. C. Wyeth painting taken from a later publication. Use desertcart's Lookinside feature to compare this edition with others. You'll be impressed by the differences. Don't be fooled by other versions that have no illustrations or contain very small print. Reading our edition will make you feel that you are back on Treasure Island with Jim Hawkins and Long John Silver. A thrilling adventure novel of pirates, sailing ships, treasure maps, and tropical islands. Published in 1883, its characters have become part of our culture. A young boy, Jim Hawkins, discovers a treasure map on a dying pirate at the "Admiral Benbow" inn in England and takes off on a quest to find the prize. As Beloved by Me As by Millions
Thereโs a reason certain books have become classics. The cream always rises to the top. Surely, many books were written when Treasure Island was penned, but most have fallen into obscurity. Only the best survive. Treasure Island will keep you on the edge of your seat with its charming sea verbiage, colorful characters, and compelling story. Each turn of the page drives you to the next, and, before you know it, youโre at The End. Written at a level accessible to Middle School or even upper grade Elementary School children, Treasure Island is a book to be enjoyed by adults as well for another 140 years and beyond.

A really nice reprint of a classic edition
I am so pleased with the quality of this reprint. Buying a used copy of the original with the original amazing illustrations is prohibitively expensive. This publisher does the reading world a true service with such high-quality work. Beware other reprintsโthis classic novel is in the public domain, so unscrupulous and shoddy publishers can get their hands on it and scam people into thinking theyโre having anything like the original authorโs and/or the classic illustratorsโ experience. Be very careful! But you can trust this one.

Fun Read
It seems ridiculous to be reviewing a classic like Treasure Island, a book enjoyed by millions for 100 years. The writing is beautiful. The sea journey is presented in authentic terms and attention must be paid to all this nautical detail. Suspense is dramatic, and one is anxious to see if the protagonists find the treasure. The only flaw in this story is the failure to reconnect with Jim Hawkins abandoned mother once the voyage is over. The book was intended to engage Stevenson's 11 year old stepson. This book is likely too difficult for children much younger than this.

The illustrations enhance the book.
We are encouraging our nephew into a career in piracy. What better introduction than "Treasure Island"? This edition is lavishly illustrated, important in a book for children, in my view. This is the one, worth every penny, moidore, dollar and doubloon.
