Review: Squirrel-gnaw discourager -- works great for this! - I used this to stop psychotic gnawing squirrels from peeling the tender bark off my newly planted tree saplings. It seems to be working, the squirrels have lost interest. The only thing wrong with it is that I wish it had come with a nice waterproof tape to keep it wrapped. I opted to staple the paper together (not onto the trees), which has worked for the most part but sometimes the paper slides down, particularly after a rain shower and I have to twirl it back up again. Probably fixable if I scrounged out some electrical tape. Review: THIS IS THE PROPER WAY TO APPLY THIS WRAP - IGNORE the manufactures instructions completely. The proper way to wrap the tree or the smaller upper branches is like this. You need two people. You wrap the paper snugly around the trunk or the upper branches. The 2nd person uses plastic zip ties to secure the wrap. Make sure you wrap the paper in a very wide pattern so that the wrap on the tree is 5 or six inches wide. Not the measly single width they show you. It should be two to three times the width of the paper. Plastic Zip ties may have to be two or three length long to go around the limbs. I had to put two together to go around my trees limbs. You need to secure the wrap near both edges as well as in the middle. They WILL NOT COME OFF. Now--- you are ready to apply the sticky stuff. It's also a pain to put on.
