You just put your gun (I have a .380 RUGER LCP) into the holster and can feel it snap gently into place. It does have an adjustment screw so that you can adjusted the tension that holds and releases the gun perfectly. You make your adjustment and then keep taking the gun in and out of the holster as you keep ever so gently adjusting the screw. I adjust mine and then turn the holster upside down and shake to make sure it will stay. Love the comment I read to tighten the screw when you put it away so that the children would not be able to draw the gun from holster. I tighten the screw up tight and I could not get it to come out. I also read elsewhere that it you spray silicon on the inside of the holster and gently wipe off excess that it would prevent wear marks on finish of your gun. I have just sprayed mine and am going to see what it does. I recommend this holster for various reasons: 1} Great Craftsmanship and good quality materials. 2)Extremely light. 3) Super secure hold on your belt (this is not going to slide off) 4)Super easy access to weapon when needed. 4) Smooth easy draw. 5) Weapon snaps securely into holster adding to a sense of safety. 6) Fits snug against body, making weapon easily concealable without a lot of added bulk (clothing). I have a pocket, IWB, and this OWB holster, and after a couple weeks of using this holster, I rarely use the others.It hugs my body better than any OWB holster has ever done, but this might be because of the size and weight of the gun. Nevertheless, it doesn’t move when placed, and it’s easily put on after you’ve dressed instead of the traditional threading through a belt. The holster tension is easily adjusted for a snug fit that *clicks* when the firearm is holstered, and I’ve never hit the exposed mag-release no matter what activity I’ve been doing.Any OWB will cause printing of the firearm on a shirt, but I’ve found this size to be the least “offensive.” I also did NOT want a holster that required me to push a button to release the firearm when drawn, and there are no issues when drawing from this holster.Look no further than this for an OWB holster for a .380. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Great Holster Over Others! *by A***1 on Reviewed in the United States on November 29, 2012* I've been using Fobus holsters since they were first being offered in the United States. With the exception of their ankle holster, I've been pleased. If you've had previous experience with Fobus, this holster for the Ruger LCP / Keltec P-3AT WILL NOT DISAPPOINT! Like other Fobus products, this is made of kydex and uses an adjustable, passive retention system (aka tension screw). I was initially apprehensive since this wasn't listed as being specific to the LCP exclusively. However, it fits perfect!PROS: Lightweight, comfortable, concealable (due to relative size), made very well as I would expect from Fobus. Holster provides partial cover over the trigger.CONS: Nothing yet.My biggest problem was concealment vs. comfort. I tried Crossbreed IWB (and other knock offs) with great concealment, but uncomfortable. The Fobus for my G27 was comfortable, but bad for concealment. Ankle holsters were very limited. This holster is no bigger than the size of my smartphone with my belt clip so it works great. I can sit in the car with this on my belt, and no one really notices it being a firearm. If the bottom of the holster shows under my shirt, they think it's my phone anyway. No big deal.I would suggest safely practicing your draw (as you should anyway). The only retention is via a tension screw which really doesn't take much to make a difference. 1/4 turn literally made the difference. See some of the photos that I posted on this item too.I WOULD CERTAINLY RECOMMEND THIS HOLSTER!
