Very good peripheral vision as well, but the mechanism that holds the lens in at the top of the goggle seems very cheap, and doesn't stay securely shut. I'm quite surprised there aren't more negative reviews about this specific feature of the goggles. I didn't ski with these, because I returned them immediately, so I don't know how big of an issue this would really be on the hill, but it certainly seems that the lenses could easily fall out while skiing. Even just adjusting the goggles on my head, I was unintentionally pulling the lens off the top of the goggle. Honestly I'm quite surprised that Smith markets this as one of their highest end goggles with this terrible lens attachment feature. I also received a lens that was bent near the bottom corner (reason for returning them). This probably wouldn't even be visible while wearing the goggles, but I would still expect better quality out of a high end goggle.The snap on the back of the strap is great for taking the goggles on and off with a helmet on, but the snap will not fit underneath all helmet strap locks. In fact, it seems that it may only be compatible with Smith helmets that have the elastic strap lock (great way to get you to buy their helmet too). I have a Bolle helmet and I cannot snap the plastic strap lock down over the snap on the goggles. I can adjust the goggle straps so the snap sits to the side of the strap lock on my helmet, but this seems to create uneven tension on each side of the goggle. Overall, seems like Smith makes great lenses, but it seems like some corners were cut on these particular goggles. I haven't compared them to there rest of the I/O series, so I can't speak to the quality of their comparable goggles.My only other grievance is that I had to pay $15 to return a broken product. Purchased from ASOGear.
