It was essentially a wireless keyboard which scans text, types it very fast and adds a ‘return’ key at the end. I was amazed to go to the support website and find tons of different ways to program this scanner and the most important one to me was that it supported Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). With this, I could connect directly to the app I was developing and send data back and forth from the barcode. One thing I’d like to see improved is a way to send and receive silent messages. Right now, I can request the scanner’s battery level by sending a code to the scanner but this trigger’s the scanner’s beep just like as if it was physically scanned. Of course, you could disable the beeper all together but that’s not what I want. I’d like to send and receive the battery messages silently and keep everything else audible.
