Don't doubt Aphex, or you'll be missing out!
I have to say, I really didn't know much about Aphex or any of their products. But with all of the current products that they presented last year at NAMM 2013, I was interested in their 500 USB Rack and this IN 2 Interface. You have to admit, Aphex is smart for presenting these two products that help bridge the gap between analog and digital interfaces. Most people just want a great front end to get into their DAW, and Aphex is great for noticing and providing something so simple, that so many people will find beneficial. With that said, this interface is amazing and well thought out. It's clean, but definitely warm sounding. Definitely waaaay better and gives more "feeling" and "body" to your sound than ALL of the neutral interface pre-amps out there on the current market. And like they said, this offers a lot of headroom that many interfaces just do not have. First off, it's built like a tank which is always a plus. Secondly, it has a very natural and warm sound to it when paired with my Lewitt LCT 640. Beautiful combination. The optical compressor does it's job well also, and provides more "body" to the sound you're recording. It's really everything they advertise in the YouTube videos (which I'm sure you watched if you're reading this review). As I said, not knowing much about Aphex, I was skeptical at first. But all in all, this is a priced very well at $500 for the features you're getting. I'm confused at how they got all of this into one box. Praise modern technology I guess. Oh yeah, the headphone amp is nice, loud, and clear as advertised, and if you hook your speakers up this unit using TRS to XLR cords you'll hear EVERYTHING crisp and clear. The A/D to D/A converter they used for this unit has to be high quality! Also, for those wondering, this has enough gain to drive a ribbon microphone. It also comes with different power connectors for those of you overseas, which is a great bonus for traveling artists. I'll try to put up some examples soon. Thanks Amazon and Aphex for quick shipping!

Can any owners provide me with additional information on this unit?
I don't know what's going on with Amazon...pre-Christmas busy-ness rush, LOL? I keep posting Questions about the Aphex IN2, but they keep disappearing! ...A bit "spooky"...as I've posted a few questions about other products and received answers. So...since I can't ask a question about the IN2 without my question(s) vanishing, I'll "share my thoughts with the community" in this manner...although I'd rather have been able to post the questions and receive an answer or two. I'm very interested in this item. I NEED a good audio interface, and I LIKE some of the features offered by this unit...like the opto-compressor and 192K resolution. ...But...AMAZINGLY, I haven't been able to find even ONE "hands-on" PRO review, discussing the pros and cons of this unit, comparing it to other units, etc., on the Internet. ...WHY? Aphex is a Major player. What's going on? ...And, so far, there are only TWO reviews of the unit HERE, at Amazon. This unit is still basically $400, even on sale. I'd like to know if its NON-adjustable opto-compressor, 192K resolution, etc., is WORTH the extra $150 it costs over the cost of, for example, the Focusrite 6i6, which offers "only" 96K resolution but also offers TWO separately adjustable headphone outputs, etc. Are there software driver problems with this unit? Are there any problems or limitations I don't know about...and can't find out about...since there's such little "feedback" here and elsewhere on the unit...just mostly promotional videos put out by Aphex? I'm Very attracted to the unit but hesitant to "pull the trigger" and plunk down $400 for an item with so LITTLE "impartial" information...and feedback from users...out there to be found. ...Hence the middle-of-the-road "3 stars" at this point.
