Review: Greatly Improved Performance - The 14 oz model and software are a great improvement on the 9 oz model I purchased earlier this year. The LED indicator now works properly by glowing white for heating, red for recharging and green for recharged. It's easy to turn off the heater and to turn it on. An audible click accompanies a successfully entered on-screen button command. The software will notify you when your desired temperature has been reached, when the cup is empty and when it needs to be recharged. Mine also automatically sent out the notifications to my iWatch. There are some minor annoyances - you may be asked to reconnect your phone to the mug after several hours of non-use and occasionally the software balked at a button click to turn the heater back on. I haven't measured the battery charge duration but even when I've moved the mug away from its charging saucer, the charge has kept the coffee warm enough to drink most of it without a return to the saucer. Once you've activated the ON button under the the bottom of the cup there is no further need to use it. The software can control everything.
Review: Does the job!! - I thought it would be the perfect birthday gift for my husband since he’s always complaining about his coffee getting cold when he takes it upstairs to his office each morning & has to go back & forth heating it up in the microwave. I was right! He loves it & is always thanking me for getting it for him. He had me try it & he’s right; it keeps it spot on hot. It took several tries to pair it with his phone but I’m into electronics & it was no big deal. He has not had the need to use the saucer yet so I can’t comment on it. I’m holding out for him to gift me with one but he didn’t for Xmas so I may have to break down & get my own!!

**Q: Where can I get a lid for this ember mug?**
A: I think this mug is for home use, not travel when you would need a lid. Since the heat is being maintained by the heater, a lid is unneeded. If you want lid, you can buy their Ember travel mug.

**Q: Does it come with a lid**
A: No only the travel mug has a lid

**Q: Does this come with the charging coaster?**
A: Yes, it does come with the flat horizontal coaster. Some call it a charger plate. It charges the battery in the cup. It works. Even if all else fails, that platter will keep your coffee/tea at the right temperature even if the battery in the cup itself should fail in the future. I have the 4 oz and not problems. My bro has the smaller size and says that it is not accurate within 1 degree. So I don't know how he measures this, but this is the only bad thing I have heard about this cup. Oh, yeah, it is not cheap.

**Q: Is the mug itself dishwasher safe?**
A: Ember mugs are defnitely NOT DISHWASHER SAFE. The bottom of the mug houses the electronics, battery and heating element. You can wash the mug by hand. Wipe at least the bottom dry.

I love drinking coffee from a mug versus a sealed stainless steel tumbler but my coffee always gets cold before I finish it :( Not anymore! This mug keeps it warm to the last drop. It will stay charged for about an hour so great for when I run to a meeting, otherwise I just keep it setting on the saucer charger while I am at my desk. My only wish was that I could keep it a smidge warmer and also it heats from the bottom so the coffee at the bottom is really warm versus the top. I learned to just keep a spoon or stir stick handy to give it a quick stir. The set up is really easy and the mug is a really nice quality. If I win the lottery I am totally buying another one to use at home!
