Superb. I only trust K&N for all my air filter needs as they are a performance product without breaking the bank. This item is fantastic as I bought a K&N filter cleaner spray so is reusable probably for the next 100,000 miles. (Although personally I would wash and clean the filter out earlier than recommended). With a silicone intake pipe attached, this item provided a smooth growling noise and excellent throttle response. Probably gained a few extra HP and gas mileage with this item.

VW Passat, perfect fit, K&N means quality. Pricey, but pays for itself. Of course, you will need to give it maintenance (about every 50k miles) washing, drying and re oiling. But for DIY'ers it's quite worth it.

Noticed a difference right away with the pick up of the vehicle as I hit the gas.

I'm giving this a full 5 stars mostly because of ease of installation which really has nothing to do with this air filter but the car itself. I don't have a dyno to know if I gained 1 or 2 more hp but I went Stg1 in my GTI the same day I installed this. Was it the air filter that gave me 100 more hp or the stage 1 tune? hahha. I'm going to go with the latter but with that said, I'm sure it helps compliment the tune with more air flow to the turbo. At least that is what makes this the #1 recommendation of air filter beyond getting an after market cold air intake for this car. So with that said, buy it.

Update 11/7/24: filter performs as advertised. I think I may have been imagining the louder turbo noise but have washed this filter once since installation, still holding up great. About half the size of the OEM engine filter. Factory sealed, properly oiled, fits my 8Y 2022 Audi a3. Ordered on 9/4/24 and the filter is stamped 7/17/2024 which is good, as it wasn’t sitting on the shelf for an extended period of time. Immediate impressions: louder turbo noise when accelerating hard and may help with fuel efficiency. Time will tell. Will update this review as I get more miles on as this filter has only been installed a few hours as of this review.

Easy-to-use

There is no need to buy an expensive intake when performance tuning your GTI. If you want the fun sounds, then yes, go pick one up from APR or Unitronic or from any number of companies who build a nice one. However, if you just want the increased airflow to go stage 1+ and up all you need to do is this. First, obviously, is to order this fantastic K&N air filter for your MK7 GTI. I could have bought it locally but wasn't in a big rush and I did save a tiny bit buying it through Amazon. Next, take out the air filter and then remove the slotted, bottom piece. It has a couple of tabs to aid in popping it out. Then just reinstall the filter box and drop the filter in! That's it! I am running my 2017 GTI with a Cobb Access Port and using the Stage 1+ 91 octane file. The car is so much quicker than stock. For those doubting the use of this filter with the removal of the bottom, slotted piece, this suggestion came form a buddy of mine who works for RallySportDirect.com. He got the tip from another employee there who works in their R&D department.he used to do R&D for ECSTuning and his specialty was VW and Audi vehicles. He has seen numerous GTI's at Stage 3 using this same intake setup. He has tested the airflow vs all of the top brands and results show zero difference and in some cases, better airflow. Enjoy!

Quality product for quality company. Have used many k&n filters over the years with good results. Probably didn't add any HP but it did increase turbo noises and I feel like it actually spools a bit faster now too. Could be placebo, but I don't care. The noises are worth it alone. 2020 gli

El flujo de aire parece más libre, y aunque no esperes milagros en consumo, sí se nota que el motor respira mejor. El único punto a tener en cuenta es que hay que seguir bien las instrucciones de limpieza y reaceitado para que dure muchos años. En general, estoy muy satisfecho con la compra y la recomendaría a cualquier amante del motor que busque un filtro de calidad y duradero.

Good quality, easy to install yourself.

Past precies op mijn 1.6 tdi seat leon. En Jezus wat een verschil zeg, auto vliegt gewoon nu over de weg, denk 0-100 nu in 3 seconden. Nee tuurlijk niet, je voelt en merkt dat auto iets pietje beter ademt, voor de rest zal het bijna altijd tussen je oren zitten. Het extra goed doorlaten van lucht kan nooit kwaad, zal deze filter alleen niet kopen als je in een stoffige land woont, maar hier in NL hebben we daar gelukkig weinig last van.
