The braided cloth like material that wraps around the length of the chords begins to fail in just a couple weeks. Would probably last a bit longer for others as my wife and children have a bad habit of charging their devices while still using them. This leads to the chord being bent over and over right where it connects to your phone. Doesnt take long at all for things to wear out with this happening. So my advice would be to not use them at all while they are charging your device. Plug it in,charge it, then continue to use your device. I could see them lasting triple the length they had if we had done this.
