**Q: Does it prevent burning oil?**
A: I am hesitant to use it. From what I have been told using such an additive can do more damage to a vehicle's engine in the long run than repairing the actual problem. Burning oil is most likely caused by bad rings on the pistons or a bad head gasket, both of which can cause oil to leak into the engine's combustion chamber.

**Q: is CD-2 oil detergent compatable with full synthetic castrol edge sae5w-30**
A: I just read all the labels on my CD2 package, and nothing is mentioned about compatibility with synthetic oil one way or the other.  I have been using CD-2 with Mobil One Synthetic Oil (10-30) for years with no problems and much improvement.  It is my understanding that the general rule about adding additives to synthetic oil is that "they may not help, but they won't hurt."Here's Castrol Edge on the web with a link for Live Chat. **Q: how is this vs seafoam?**
A: Not familiar with seafoam, but my 427 cu ZO6 Vette had valve train ticking and local Corvette shop recommended CD2. One bottle quieted her down. I now add a bottle every 5k with Mobile 1 oil change. I now also use it in my Suburban and Tahoe.
