No religion is necessary, but it's helpful if you believe, or at least heard about, Jesus Christ. And have read the gospels in the Bible. I would suggest you just keep reading, even if it doesn't make sense at times. Just treat it like any other book. Read it because you enjoy it, and stop when you need a break, or are no longer enjoying it. I'm only 46% done. All aspects of my life have gotten better because of this book. I carry it around in my jacket pocket on my kindle whenever I feel like I need a morale boost.Definitely recommend this book. Worth the $4.99. And I definitely do not usually spend more than $1.99 on books. Not entirely sure what compelled me to buy it. I think Eckhart Tolle, a spiritual teacher, said that he enjoyed it, so I looked it up.Great book to read! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Second Reading *by V***A on January 4, 2013* I tried reading ACIM twenty years ago. I was drawn to it but I just couldn't stay with it or fully understand the message. I finally put it aside and eventually gave the books to a library sale. This must be the time I was intended to read it. I have grown through time and other reading in my lifelong search for TRUTH and when I purchased the Kindle edition of ACIM about a month ago and began reading, it all fell into place for me. I fully understand all of the meaning, where it is leading, and the message of Atonement through Miracles. As it says in the introduction: "It is required reading.
