CliffsNotes FTCE General Knowledge Test: Fourth Edition, Revised (CliffsNotes Test Prep)

Use this book and only this book and passed GKT on the first try. My weakness was math, so that was my main focus and this was a perfect guide. It has practice problems for each subtext and multiple practice tests. The answer key explains the reasoning too.

I bought this book as a tool to study for the FTCE, & it absolutely helped me pass the exam. I specifically chose this book for the in-depth nature of the maths review. I read through the book, doing the in-chapter practice problems, and then took the practice tests. I did analysis and review of the concepts that I did not answer correctly on the practice tests, and then retook the practice tests to check for improvement/further review. This guide was the only resource I utilized to prepare for the exam. I studied for roughly one month before attempting the exam and passed all sections on the first attempt, thanks to this guide. I suggest taking the diagnostic test before starting to study to better focus your efforts, esp if you are working against a deadline. Good luck to all!

I never was an exceptional student in school and I failed algebra back in high school...so I was worried about take the GK test. This is the only book I used along with Khan academy for supplemental math videos and I passed everything on the first go. I thought the math section prepared me very well for the test! Actually I felt like the math practice tests overprepared me. The other portions in this book were great too and matched the test well in my opinion. I studied with this book for about 2 months before I took the test.

Studying to become a teacher and I have to pass the general knowledge exam. This book is helping me understand what I need to know so I can pass the exam.

I was really anxious about taking this test, but this book helped in a big way! I passed 3 of 4 of the subtests on the first try (currently waiting for results on the essay subtests) with about a month of studying a little bit each day. This book was extremely helpful, especially for the math and ELS (grammar) subtests. I'd recommend this book to anyone who is looking to prepare for any of the GKT subtests!

I did the 2 practice test includes in the book. Got feedback from the book on what I got wrong. I went back for an in-depth review of those topics inside the book. Took the test and passed the math, English, and reading comprehension sections. Still waiting for the essay section as that take some time.

This book definitely gets you ready for the exam. Passed 3 out of the 4 sections on my first try. Essay is something you can't really study for, but the book definitely gets you prepared in math, language, and reading. If you study with enough time, the book should help lots!

Loved this book. Brings two practice tests which I used. I first did one, which refreshed the items I was missing. I have been out of highschool for 10 years and needed a crash study course. I then went into the book and brushed up on the items I could not remember. Then two days before took the 2nd practice test and went back and read through the items I missed. Waiting on the test results but so far english and reading I passed first time thanks to this book!
