It seems to work ok. Sometimes I can't get my lashes to curl nicely with it. It does the thing where the outer lashes curl more than the middle ones. It catches my skin on occasion, but I've never had a curler that didn't. I imagine that's more to do with different eye shapes being compatible with different curlers. Since opening it, there has been a strange smell...like...maybe a road tar mixed with plastic kind of smell? I figured that would dissipate but it's been several weeks and still smells every time I use it. It's kind of gross and chemically, but not a deal breaker. The little black cushion in the finger hole pops out on one side. I put it back, but it's not like, glued in or anything so it just pops out again.
