Review: Solid quiet D5 pump - I took a chance on this particular D5, because it was considerably cheaper by about 40-60% It has a 2-pin header and a Molex pass through, so make sure you have a Molex to Sata-MALE (very important!) adapter. Being a 2-pin this is a DC not PWM pump. In my opinion, having the coolant flow run at a consistent speed is better than a PWM controlled pump that slows down/speeds up depending on requirements of whatever you are doing. Coolant is coolant, and with a reservoir to provide thermal mass, the temperature fluctuation curve is not going to change as quickly as the speed of a PWM pump, so constant flow rate is my preference. It comes in a plain box, no instructions or any stickers on the motor itself, its black polymer body, and thats it. Its quiet and has very little vibration. I will be recommending this to colleagues. Review: Your standard D5 pump - runs well, if a bit loud - Interestingly my unit is loud in a high pitched pump-noise way at >70%, and also loud in a rattley way <45%. Which works fine for me since I keep it at 50-60% - moves coolant fast at that speed and has a dull barely audible hum. One connector for power the other is for pump RPM. **Q: How is it possible that this pump only uses 18w? all other d5 pumps use 37w and flow 1200l\h. doesn't make sense.** A: Didn’t care what watts being used.
