Absolute necessity for elderly monitoring
Have two of these alarms and we could not be more pleased! One is dedicated to keeping an eye on our elderly parent in bed. The other unit is for when parent is watching TV in family room and we are outdoors gardening, in the barn or mowing. The alarm sound component is portable. We slip it in a pocket or just place it where we're working. We can hear the alarm chime in a pocket over the tractor noise - great for when parent moves or needs our help. We mow about an acre and the unit has no issues covering this area. We use these great little monitors in conjunction with radio wave baby monitors (we never use wifi monitors due to hacking privacy issues). Our elderly parent is monitored while we are going about household chores by day and during the night. Five years of 24/7 use these monitors are still reliable. They are easy on batteries. We've only changed batteries out twice in three years. The unit actually lets you know when the batteries need changing - the alarm starts to sound like a creature from the outer limits. Please note the two alarm sound choices are somewhat sappy, and very loud. That's actually a great feature if you are a sound sleeper or on a tractor. We keep the alarm unit outside our bedroom as it's a bit startling when it goes off. We're ordering a couple more units as spares. We also use the gardening unit to keep an eye on our open (and locked) sliding screen door, just in case a visitor comes there instead of the front door. Unit is simple, low cost, so far completely reliable, no wifi to mess with, no apps, just your ears being alerted if your patient is moving. Kudos to the manufacturer. Highly recommend!

This is the bed alarm to get!
This alarm is great! My 93-year-old mom felll on the way to the bathroom one night and it didn't wake my brother up so she spent some time on the floor before he found her so I bought two of these - one for her house where she lives with my brother and one for my house because she spends half her time with me. I love that there is no pad she has to sleep on that might be uncomfortable or set the alarm off every time she shifts her weight. With this one we just set the sensor on the floor near the head of the bed and when she puts her feet on the floor to get up at night it goes off. I also love that there's no alarm in her room to scare her. They used a bed sensor when she's been in the hospital before and it set off a blaring alarm right by her head. If you want to MAKE an elderly person fall, just scare the crap out of them when they try to get up at night! The pager with this one is wonderful. It has two settings - alarm and chime. I don't love the idea of waking up to an alarm at night but the chime setting is fine. It makes a "ding-dong" noise just like the door chime when you enter some stores. The pager is extremely loud and doesn't have a volume control but my brother and I just close it in the drawer next to our beds - I wrap mine in a washcloth too - and then it's perfect. Plenty loud to wake us without startling us or waking the whole house. I also like that it only goes off as long as she's breaking the beam so it doesn't chime endlessly or have to be reset every time it's set off. As soon as she steps out of the beam, the chime stops. The sensor and the pager each work on two AA batteries which is also nice because nothing needs to be plugged in. I just have to remember to turn them on at bedtime and off in the morning. This system works great and is so inexpensive it could be used anywhere you want to track someone's movements. It would be a good crib alarm too if you have a baby who climbs out. I might even get one to put across my daughter's window at night so I don't have to worry about someone breaking into her room. There could be lots of uses for this wonderful little system.

A great aide for caregivers
I have been using this product for almost three weeks now. I use it at night and it is placed in my 86 yr old mother's room so that I can be alerted whenever she gets out of bed and so that I can gently assist her in getting back to bed comfortably. It is a truly wonderful device which allows me to respond appropriately without having to get up unnecessarily. I would suggest a few modifications: 1. Volume control. The two options - the "William Tell Overture" or the "Chime" are both quite loud. Particularly so in the still of the night. It does help to bury the pager under a pillow and to cover the vents with duct tape, but a little volume control knob would have been so much cuter. 2. The motion sensor has a little green light which is activated when it senses movement. I found that my mother was a little concerned and distracted by this light and so I covered this over with a bit of tape too. If this light is not necessary to the function of the unit, I would suggest eliminating it from the design. The unit is easy to use and works as described. The alarm sounds at the pager so that the person being monitored is not disturbed by the noise. The device works so well that when I go to my mum during the night, she is surprised to see me since she thinks that she is moving around quietly so that I would not hear her. "How did you know that I was up?" she asks. :) The quality of care that I can give is SO much better as a result of this little device. I am very satisfied with this product and I definitely recommend it.

Works well. Maybe too well.
This alarm system was fairly easy to set up and is very sensitive. But my need for it was to alert me if my elderly mom got out of bed in the middle of the night. But any movement on her part caused the alarm to go off even though she had not made any attempt to leave her bed. This was despite my putting the sensor on the floor about five inches off the carpet and pointed at the bottom of her bed frame. The volume on the alarm cannot be adjusted and is quite loud. So I removed the device and bought a floor mat type alarm sensor, which works very well, but now I have to get out of bed and come running a lot more quickly.

Does exactly what I need it to do.
PROS: Wakes me up in time to get to Dad's bedside before he gets up and falls. CONS:,Can't let the cats in his room at night, can't really use as a chair alarm, sensor will pick up every move he makes while sitting, anyone who walks by, etc. Dad has dementia, and has become a fall risk when getting up every night without fail to use the bathroom. Needed an alarm to awaken me so I could get to him before he gets out of bed, as he has become increasingly unsteady upon awakening. Cannot teach him to use a night commode for obvious reasons (dementia!) At first, tried another wireless alarm- purchased the combination pack of chair pad/bed pad with wireless remote alarm. The alarm sound itself worked, but would not sound until a FULL FIVE SECONDS AFTER dad moved. Useless!! He could get up and be more than halfway to the bathroom by then, and have already fallen. Back to the drawing board. This is a very basic motion detector, but sensitive, and I have no trouble with the range of the wireless alarm box. I can take it anywhere throughout the house or to a point out in the yard, and still be assured the signal will be received. The wireless alarm unit is great, as the alarm does not sound in the patient's room, potentially startling them and causing a fall, which is what we are trying to prevent. The biggest challenge we had was figuring out placement of the motion sensor box itself; because it IS sensitive, you can't mount it high enough so that it will pick up every little movement, toss or turn of the person in bed, which it absolutely will. The key was to place it on the floor between the bed and the nightstand, facing down the length of the bed, so that as soon as Dad's foot hits the floor, the alarm sounds instantaneously, and I can get to him before he has even stood up. Pushed the bed against the wall so he can get out of bed only on that side. The alarm box has two volume settings, "loud as F" and "the dead shall rise up". Kidding, sort of. Lower setting sounds like an electronic doorbell (ding dong! ding dong!), very loud, wakes me every time, and I really do sleep like the dead. The second setting is an electronic snippet of the William Tell overture, and trust me, you will not need this setting unless you are truly hard of hearing and need a more extended sound. Considering many caregivers out there might truly be, this is a bonus. If you startle easily, avoid the loud setting unless you want to have to be scraped off the ceiling when it does go off! Even if I am awakened a few times a night, I'm still resting easier knowing that I can get to him immediately. I have set up an air bed in the next room over from his for proximity, and this has been working pretty well so far!

Malfunction after a while
I bought this alarm in Dec 2023 it’s now March 2026. The product worked wonderful until two months ago, It started randomly malfunctioning, I changed the batteries twice to see if that was the issue for the malfunctioning. Now the light nor sound works. Looking to buy a new one for my special needs daughter.

Worth the Money If It’s Like What You Need
Hired a live-in caregiver for my centenarian Mother. This was an invaluable tool to alert the caregiver when my Mother would get up at night.

Works great!
Works well. The sensitivity zone is quite large leading to false positives. Eg wind blown curtain moves. Need to experiment with placement. Wish that there would be a movement sensitivity setting like that of auto lights.

Excellent Gazette For Care Giver To Elders
An excellent Gazette for caregiver to Elders. My mother is 93yrs old, she is a case of Senile Dementia/Alzheimer's. I have installed this Gazette near her bed , so whenever she awake and about to leave the bed , this Gazette sounds immediately and makes me alert to help her , otherwise she may fall and can get injured. Even at night if you are sleeping , the beep awakes you and make you alert. This is a must for your loved one's who are quite old and always require help by some one/Caregiver , so that they should not remain unattended. Packing was too good and batteries were already installed.
