Does this pick up cat litter?

Hair, yes. After all, it is electrostatic. Litter, not so much.

Does this sweeper pick up pet hair?

We have a border collie in our home who sheds copiously in spite of all the combing! This sweeper will pick it up well when pulled backward over the hair. When going frontward, the hair will "roll up" but not pick up. I enjoy using this sweeper in between the regular vacuuming. For the amount of hair our dog sheds, this does well.

How do you empty it? Does the dust tray come off, or do you wrangle the whole sweeper over the trash can?

There are two dust trays hinged on the body of the sweeper. I just hold the sweeper upright over the trash can, release one side and then the other, and give it a little shake to get all of the debris out. In my experience, easier than wrangling a separate tray.

Does this sweeper have a way to hang it on a wall?

Yes, there is a vertical slit about one inch long in the top of the handle that can be to hang from a wall hook.
