## Description

Iron more efficiently with this energy-saving Eco Intelligence DW6080 steam iron by Rowenta. The 1700-watt iron saves 25% more energy (compared to standard irons) while delivering professional results. With its exclusive Eco Steam system for optimal output, the iron offers three settings: Dry for a perfect finish without steam, Eco for superior steam while saving energy, and Boost for added steam when tackling thicker fabrics or uncompromising creases. An ergonomic rotary trigger makes activating the Eco Steam settings comfortable for both left- and right-handed users, and the steam output can be manually adjusted as needed. The iron’s scratch-resistant, stainless-steel soleplate features over 400 micro holes for thorough steam distribution, plus offers a unique 3D design that creates concentrated steam between the soleplate and fabric, reducing steam loss. Powerful steam with less waste means getting the job done with less energy. Gliding effortlessly across all fabrics, the rounded back end of the iron’s soleplate allows for a smooth back and forth motion without creating creases, while the pointed front end makes easy work of getting into tight spots like pleats or in between buttons. The versatile iron can also be used in the upright position for vertically steaming anything from hanging garments to drapes or slip covers. Other highlights include an anti-drip system to help prevent spitting or leaking at low heat settings, a self-clean system that flushes out loose mineral deposits for long-lasting performance, and three-way automatic shut-off for safety—the iron turns off automatically if left unused after 8 minutes in the upright position or after 30 seconds in the horizontal position or tipped over. Get through piles of shirts, slacks, cloth napkins, and more in no time with the Rowenta DW6080U6 Eco Intelligence steam iron.

Review: Great Iron - Pretty too - I was a bit leary of buying this iron, as it is quite expensive, but I decided to go for it. My old iron was decent, but cheap. This is a HUGE upgrade. Loads of steam, it heats up quickly, and it is very pretty with the floral pattern on it. This is a very hefty iron - which is good - the weight means I don't have to bear down on it like with my old iron. There is a huge amount of steam coming out of this iron - even more if you switch it to turbo. I was able to iron 3 dress shirts in under 20 minutes, which is a huge improvement over my old iron. I was able to iron the sleeves from one side, without flipping and ironing the other side, and the crease in the sleeve is razor sharp. After ironing the three shirts I still have half a tank of water left. One thing I have noticed is that while this iron heats up much faster than my old iron, it takes WAY longer to cool down. This really is a good thing, it means that it retains its heat better, and is ready for another shot of steam very quickly. I do wish the cord was black, but that is a minor quibble that has no impact on the performance of the iron. The cord isn't super long, but I have one of those whip cord holder things from Polder that clamps onto the ironing board, and I had no issues with reach, even though that elevates the cord 2 feet above the ironing board. I do generally iron quite close to a socket though. Worst case scenario, you buy an extension cord (buy one that is rated to carry enough power for the iron - you don't want to burn your house down.
Review: Rowenta - Good Iron - I use this iron mainly for quilting. It does a fine job on clothes too, though I can only speak for cotton. I haven't tried ironing with the lower temperatures. I like that the iron has a bit of weight to it as well as a nice balance in the hand. Great steaming. It is one of the best shot of steam irons I have owned. I tested the water spray as well. It works nicely. Iron heats up quickly. There's been no spitting or leaking. There was a bit of residue coming out of the iron when I first started using it; however, the user pamphlet explained it was normal and it stopped after my first few passes with it and a few steam shots. It did not damage my fabric. I've been using the iron almost every day for the past couple of weeks. This is my second Rowenta in 10 years. I gave my first one to someone who needed an iron. It was a great iron too. I would have bought the same one, but the model was no longer manufactured. Both were made in Germany, but I thought all of them were German products. Picked this one because my last Rowenta was a great iron and this one seemed to have the best reviews of the newer Rowenta models.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Trying to decide which is the best value/performance/reliability between the 5080, 6080, 8080, and 9280...any experience comparing any of these?**
A: I dont know about the other irons, I have had another Rowenta and I like the DW6080 the best., uses tap water and does not spit or drip drag water on what I am ironing. This is the best iron I have had and used. It is my favorite, very smooth and small tip goes under buttons easily. Really like this iron and for me it got hot enough, most of our ironing is 100% cotton and it does a beautiful job. Hope this helps you....

**Q: How do I turn this off without unplugging it?**
A: I plug my iron into an electrical strip that has an on/off switch. I can click the switch to turn it off. There is also a light to indicate that the iron is on -- a good reminder for me to turn off the iron when I leave the room!

**Q: Am I correct in saying there is no way to regulate the amount of steam...it is either on or off?**
A: The automatic steam level can be regulated with a dial. You can also do a burst of steam with the button. So, yes, the steam can be regulated pretty easily.

**Q: Is this a good iron for quilters?**
A: I returned this iron because of the terrible steam problems I had. Though I did admit that it could have been defective. I am a Quilter and Fiber Artist and needed to replace my older and much abused Rowenta! I sent this model back and just recieved the Rowenta W9280 Steam Force Steam Iron, 1800-watt and it is wonderful! It was $4 more but vastly more efficient in steam! I ironed 75 freshly washed Fat Quarters in no time flat! Slightly damp painters canvas ironed out in one pass! Ironing silk and rayon flew by in a flash! I'm in love! Oh, I hate the blue color, but I don't buy irons for color! Hope this helps!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Love the iron, worth the money
*by B***R on March 22, 2021*

I bought this iron to replace my 30 year old Rowenta and I really love all the upgrades. I bought this model despite the negative reviews as I loved the lovely appearance, I admit it, and I'm so glad that I did! I'm a quilter and I find that the steam works fabulously to quickly iron whatever piece I'm working on. Whoever wrote about a chintzy burst of steam button was using the wrong button, the burst button is solid and works great. I appreciate the cup that comes with the iron to refill it as it is designed well and holds exactly the amount you need to fill the chamber, which by the way is easy to see into. I like the weight even tho it is a tad heavy as it presses things in a jiffy. Very comfortable to my hand. When it auto turns off, the iron turns back on by placing horizontally and heats up within seconds so that is not an issue. I love the tapered nose and the coverage of all the steam holes. This is just a well designed and wonderful iron; Totally worth the money. Mine says Made in Germany.
