Nothing I've found online specifies. MM is the safer guess here because MC cartridges tend to be high-end and they're not as widely distributed. This one does not appear to be high-end. If it is MM, you'll know as soon as you use the MM pre-amp: when your turntable is plugged into a MM-compatible pre-amp (such as the Pro-Ject Phono Box), the sound output will be pretty close to that of a CD player plugged into the same amplifier. If you discover they're not compatible, you should be able to get a refund or exchange one the Phono Box. **Q: Just to be clear, my AVR (Onkyo tx-nr535) doesn't have a phono input.
