My 406 is struggling with my 300l tank!** A: I have a 350l tank and noticed my 406 was struggling, I was doing 10-15% water changes weekly and a full filter maintenance and 50-60% water changes every 6-8 weeks. I did a bit of online research and most utube and online advice believe that the actual fluval flow rate is tested media free and without any bio load. So actual capacity you should half what the manufacturer stated. On that basis I ordered a second filter ( I have a community tank big stock of fish) the water is much better with two filters. **Q: What size are the brackets ?** A: 1L baskets. Brackets are enough to install on anything. **Q: Is this fine with small fish, fry and shrimp? The good: easy to set up, really good pump action to refill chamber after cleaning, good media included. The bad: The outlet on this is above water level so quite nosey (sound of water, constantly feel like I need a wee), supplied hoses are just long enough, I had 3 inches spare.
