I have 3 of them and have made more than 800 pierogies over the past 3 years, so they are sturdy. **Q: Why do these turn all black and greasy and the chroming come off in the dish washer? I bought one and looking here at the one star reviews its a comm** A: Why put it in the dishwasher? It isn't that dirty. Just use a quick brush, a little soap and you are done. I believe the black comes from the clash between the dishwasher liquid and the aluminum. I don't use grease on my periogie maker, just dust with flour when I am laying out the dough. No problems at all. Elizabety **Q: what size do these make? 4" diameter?** A: The pierogi is about 4" each. You get 2 pierogi's per round circle, 6 per tray. It really is a good product and making pierogi's is much easier and they are very uniformed in shape and makes for even cooking. **Q: how do I use the metal and plastic pieces?** A: The internet is full of answers and the box has instructions...but since you asked here you go: roll out your dough, lay it over the metal piece. Line up the plastic piece over the now covered metal piece and use the plastic piece to push pockets into the dough you just placed over the metal piece. Now you have a place to add your fillings. Now roll out a second piece of dough and lay it over the first piece of dough that now has filling in all 6 pockets. Now that it is covered, take your rolling pin and roll over the now covered metal piece. Press firmly enough to allow the rolling pin to push against the metal piece and both crimp and cut out the dumplings/pierogi. Remove the trimmed excess dough from the metal piece and you should now have 6 dumplings with filling. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Quick Perogies *by on Reviewed in Canada 17 July 2023* I truly love this, it makes work so quik and easy. I use my pasta maker to roll the dough and then fill and press. Makes 80 pirogies in an hour. Also works great for mini pies or meat pies. Quality is good it will last me a lifetime, washes up good. Just don't use a good rolling pin to press the dough, It will leave dent marks on your pin. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easy to use and very effective at forming and sealing them *by on Reviewed in the United States 18 May 2020* I was pleasantly surprised by how well this worked. I grew up eating pierogies but have never made any myself. I decided to try it given all the additional time at home and based on other reviews, was expecting to have a much lower success rate. It actually worked surprisingly well! Part of my concern was with it making only 6 at a time but I think this might be an advantage over the larger options if you're not looking to make batches of 10 dozen because it's easier to take the scraps from one run and make another run of them. When I started to get to the end of the dough, I started rolling into a circle and only using one end of the maker to make 2 at a time and that worked well. Ultimately I made 2 dozen and had hardly any leftover dough. There were a couple towards the end that required me to do a bit of pinching to seal the weaker seams but for the most part, they just worked right out of the device.
