It would sometimes just go offline which was unacceptable so I finally ditched it. Could have been the WIFI slot circuitry. As stated in the subject line, it worked for my application but I reduced it to 4 stars because of the lack of documentation. I purchased a Timetec 256GB SSD NVMe PCIe Gen3x4 8Gb/s M.2 2280 3D NAND High Performance SLC Cache Read/Write Speed Up to 2,000/1,600 MB/s Internal Solid State Drive for PC Laptop and Desktop to go wit h it. The description stated that it would support only 1 PCIe lane and not the 4 of the NVMe. I did not expected Read/Write speeds of 2,000/1,600 MB/s. Also, the NVMe is rated for PCIe 3.0 support but the WiFi port on this computer only supports PCIe 2.0 x 1 so I expected about 400/300 MB/s Read/Write speeds. I got average speeds of 417/344 MB/s which is about 92% of the USB 3.0 speeds of the NVMe in an external USB adapter. If the Wifi port only supports PCIe 1.0 x 1 then I would expect speeds in the 200/150 MB/s range. If the WiFi port does not support PCIe then the adapter will not work. I also upgraded the memory with aTimetec 8GB DDR4 2400MHz (DDR4-2400) PC4-19200 (PC4-2400T) Non-ECC Unbuffered 1.2V CL17 1Rx8 Single Rank 260 Pin SODIMM Laptop Notebook PC Computer Memory RAM Module Upgrade (8GB) since the Celeron N4020 can support 8GB. Generic instructions for installing. Before installing any hardware, upgrade your system's BIOS to the latest available from your computer’s manufacturer. 1. Unplug computer from 110V/220V outlet. 2. Follow the computer manufacturer’s instructions for opening the case. 3. If the computer is a laptop, disconnect the internal battery. 4. Locate the M2 A/E Key WiFi Card and/or Port. 5. Confirm that it is M2 A/E Keyed. 6. Remove the WiFi antennas from the card. 7. Insulate the connectors on the antennas with electrical tape. 8. Remove the screw holding the card in the port. 9. Save the screw to hold the adapter in the port. 10. Follow the computer manufacturers instructions for clearing the CMOS. 11. Install the NVMe SSD in to the adapter and secure with the screw that came with the adapter. 12. Insert the M2 A/E Keyed end of the adapter into the WiFi port and secure with the screw removed in step 8. 13. Secure the NVMe SSD end of the adapted in a convenient place in the computed making sure that you do not short the electrical contacts on the back of the NVMe adapter and has adequate space around it for cooling. 14. If the computer is a laptop, reconnect the internal battery. 15. Follow the computer manufacturer’s instructions for closing the case. 16. Provide power to the computer. 17. Reboot the computer. This may need to be done twice to reset the CMOS. 18. Using Windows Disk Manager, initialize and format the new NVMe SSD. 19.
