## Description

The heat sensor in this alarm is triggered at 58°C and is designed to detect heat build up from large flaming fires and therefore is suitable for use in kitchens and garages. The Ei164E runs on 230V AC mains power, and has built in tamper proof Lithium cells that act as a battery back up in the event of mains failure. The alarm gives a fire warning when adequate heat enters the alarm. It is supplied with an easy-fit base that allows very quick and simple installation of the smoke alarm, combined with simple alarm head removal and replacement. The Easi-fit base automatically connects both mains power and battery as the detector slides on

These are real nice bits of kit, easily installed 'DIY' style if you know what you're doing - if any doubts get a qualified electrician (I installed 3 smoke & one heat alarm). I like the fact these have lithium batteries offering a 10 year stint - no more battery changes. The life expectancy is printed on the product. Mine are wired into the mains electric; if there's a power outage the lithium battery takes over giving constant coverage. This model comes with an 'interconnect' system - if one kicks off all the others do too. Nice quality and they look real good and are dead easy to test; just press the 'middle' - make a massive noise. I gather these don't 'yellow' over time. Fabulous peace of mind at a great price.

**Q: Can this unit ei3014 be linked to ei 141rc smoke alarm by hard wiring ?**

I believe that it can due to being from the EI range, you will need a smart link to make this work.

Unfortunately its not compatible with ei650irf but instead it is compatible with ei3000mrf

**Q: Can this heat detector be used with existing smoke detectors that i already have?**
A: ’s important to remember that heat detectors do not pick up signs of smoke, which is usually one of the first signs of a fire.

So, to ensure your building is safeguarded against both, it’s a good idea to use a heat alarm alongside a smoke alarm.

Sentinel heat detectors can be used in circuit of up to 20 units, covering up to 100 metres. This means, of course, that if your heat alarm detects a sudden jump in temperature in the cellar, you smoke alarm on the top floor will activate too.
