What is the id of the connector / od of the pipe it fits?

This is for use with 5/8" on both the ID and OD

I wan to replace my heater hose too. What size heater hose do I use with this? Is it 3/4"?

In my experience the size has to do with the size of the pipe coming out of the heater. So the size used depends on the heater core used. In my case is was 3/4 for the heater core but 5/8 for the heater interconnecting pipe. Or in short you won't know still you take it off. But if it is the original heater core you could try and see what Amazon tells you. Amazon was correct on mine. Buy two Quick Connects and replace both. If one broke the other is not far behind.

Do you need 2 of these?

It would depend on the size of the lines you are working on and also if you need to replace them all.

Got a 98 Expedition 5.4l. Couldn't get them off, now I can't get them back on.. any help out there appreciated..

I broke the original connectors removing the hoses from the metal tubes that protrude from firewall. I cut off the old connectors and replaced them with the dorman 800-403 connector with a clamp. At first the new connectors would not push onto the metal tubes, so I smeared a dab of tune up grease on the metal tubes and the connectors pushed right on and clicked. no leaks - worked great.
