There are no metal particles in the blocks nor is there any lead. **Q: Are these blocks stackable to use for leveling?** A: Yes, they have interlocking tabs for stacking. You may stack them two high. **Q: Will it support a deck, 6 ft. High, 8 x 8 ft.?** A: That's more of an architectural question. I built a 16' x 10' swing & fort on 6 of these pads to make the lumber last longer, not getting wet in the ground. It's lasted about 2 years so far & no water damage. I used them for anchoring the backyard home-made swing-set and home-made playset. It worked well as the base for the corners of the playset (4x4 posts with 2x6 boards attached on the outside edges to make a 90-degree angle). The anchors did a good job and were easy to pound into the ground and attach with screws. It's a good product, but I wish it didn't cost so much. Still, no regrets.
