I usually just put new CDs on and go about my business in the house. This time I had to stop and sit down. I remained seated for the entire album. Every time I thought to get up and do something some new musical phrase would begin and I would be mesmerized. I cannot say enough about this album. I am a prog rock fan from way back and probably have the most extensive and wide in variety collection in my area of the state so I guess I have a pretty good idea of what constitute good music. Plus being a musician myself helps as well. I am familiar with all the musicians in this band, which is why I bought the album in the first place, but I never expected to be wowed by what I heard. One might disagree with me but I heard a bit of 'Wind and Wuthering" as well as "Lizard" throughout this work. Not to say they lifted anything but were influenced by great '70s progressive rock pieces. Do yourself a favor and put on some headphones, sit back and dedicate the next hour to being completely entertained.

Gotta check this group out if you like Genesis, Yes, Rush etc.

Wish Lifesigns had 20 more albums! So psyched that I discovered these guys on Amazon Prime Music. Colorful musical landscapes. Lyrics that tell a story. Compelling musicianship. Love the use of bass-lines to add depth, funk and character to the music. Can't go wrong with Lifesigns. I'm a fan of Genesis, Yes, Kansas, Rush, Big-Big-Train... In other words I love both vintage prog-rock and am always looking for great new groups who aren't simply copy-cats. These guys are unique. They're their own being.

    True Lifesigns!

Just so that we don't forget the immediacy of the moment and what lies beyond, around us, ahead of us, Lifesigns springs forth and opens the gateway! Thank you John Young! Thanks Nick Beggs & Frosty Beetle, and all who contributed to this project! It is a wonderful piece of work. Strange the connection with the telephone booth in the cover artwork, reminding me of the incredible "Milliontown" by Frost as well as the phonebooth used by Peter Gabriel on his "Secret World" tour back in 94 during the song "Come Talk To Me". Great moments in music! The CD opens with "Lighthouse", an excellent tune that is all about the search and the journey. A great exploritory vision! Excellence begins the journey! My personal favorite "Telephone" is the second track and has wonderful lyrics and great melodic content. John Young's lyrics "But your ears are open and your heart beats wide, cos there's something else and it's deep inside, and you're all alone and you don't know why, as you try and hide the love denied." are just a sample of some of the very best lyrics I've heard in some time. The entire song is masterful! Me being a long-time Genesis fan, I find great solace in this track. The third track "Fridge Full Of Stars" is another track that explores the cosmos connection with the human race. Can't help hear a slightly different twist on the old YES tune "Yours Is No Disgrace" in this track, but they make it completely enjoyable and current in Lifesigns style. More excellence! "At The End Of The World" is probably my least favorite track if I must have one. I like it very much, but feel at this time that it will have to grow on me a little more. Still an amazing track with excellent lyrics and harmonies. The CD ends with "Carousel" which is more modern prog at it's best. A great track that has more leanings towards ELP. What these guys have accomplished here is greatly significant! Also great to hear Steve Hackett (Genesis), Robin Boult (Fish), Jakko Jakszyk (King Crimson), & Thijs van Leer (Focus) all joining in on this! Also I must say that just about any project Mr. Nick Beggs gets involved with these days is usually of great significance! Not only has he been involved in Steve Hackett's band, but he has been a consistent member of Steven Wilson's solo work and touring band. Anyone who loves all the great prog of old and recent times will most likely find this a must for the collection! Makes it wonderful to be alive!!!
