Review: Perfect for TS140 Server kit - Teamed this with a Lenovo TS140 Xenon-based bare-bone server and Windows Server 2012 R2 on a new IT deployment. Flawless. No installation problems, timings set exactly right, ran 72 hours straight on mem test without a single hiccup, passed another 48 hours of full-system stress testing without missing a beat, and remains MUCH cooler than what it replaced even under 95% stress load. The RAM is good, stable and reliable - which is all anyone can ever ask out of server RAM (or any RAM, really). Our new server also features a SanDisk 240GB SSD main with two platter storage drives (a single 500GB back-up/imaging/software archive and a single 2TB with three partitions for net storage, update service packages and file serving). Server 2012 R2 actually runs leaner than 2008 R2 with the same services installed, and at least seems more responsive in heavy tasking roles, though it could be the better hardware in the server - like this RAM.
Review: ECC without the (wallet) pain! - If you are looking for ECC unbuffered memory for AMD platforms, this works brilliantly! I built a low-power server based on the AMD AM1 low-cost platform, using the Asus AM1M-A micro-ATX motherboard, and this memory module. The AM1M-A is the ONLY AM1 motherboard to my knowledge that supports ECC-U (AM1 fully supports it, but it requires BIOS support). With FreeBSD and a large ZFS disk cluster, we are running smoothly! As I upgrade disks, I will be adding yet another of this module. I have to say that ECC memory is hotter than general fast-page DDR memory and added a DIMM heatsink for cooling, but the server has yet to show a temperature over 40°C on the internal thermistor bank (and that was full load), so it shows that in general this is quite a cool module.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How important is matching/buying a pair as a kit? Can I buy just one now and add more DIMMs 2 years later when they are half the price?**
A: It's not important that you buy a pair, you just won't get any dual channel benefit. Also, RAM doesn't drop in price over time, it increases in price as stock decreases. Hence it won't be half the price two years later, it will be 1.5x the price.

**Q: Does this memory work with hp ml10 server?**
A: They sent me the wrong memory. The label on package did not match the label on the stick. I would go with different product and not risk it.

**Q: Does this memory work with DELL Workstation 'Dell Precision T5500'?**
A: I do not know, however if you use the Crucial website you can either use their lookup table or download system searcher and find the correct memory for your system. That is how I found this memory for my system.

**Q: Will this work with an HP 15-d083nr?**
A: When I did a google search for "HP 15-d083nr memory" this was not the recommended memory upgrade. The recommended memory was Crucial 8GB DDR3-1600 SODIMM CT5537423 DDR3 PC3-12800 * CL=11 * Unbuffered * NON-ECC * DDR3-1600 * 1.35V * 1024Meg x 64 *upgrade for HP - Compaq HP 15-d083nr system.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ECC without the (wallet) pain!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ my Lenovo ThinkServer TS-140 took a Memory Dump with these Crucial 8GB DDR3
*by I***R on February 16, 2016*

I have a "Lenovo ThinkServer TS140 70A4000HUX i3-4130 3.4GHz Server Desktop Computer" Lenovo ThinkServer TS140 70A4000HUX i3-4130 3.4GHz Server Desktop Computer . I also have "Kingston Technology HyperX Blu 8GB 1333MHz DDR3 Non-ECC CL9 DIMM (Kit of 2) KHX1333C9D3B1K2/8G" with another 4GB Samsung and 2GB Hynix. Giving me a total of 14GB of DDR3 memory. It has been running fine but I notice that out of the 14GB, I am running it at 10GB, figure it was time to add some more memory. I was trying to find a memory that will work with my Lenovo ThinkServer TS-140 and after reading reviews. People say to only buy ECC memory and not non-Ecc and this Crucial GB was "suppose" to be the right choice. So I purchase 32GB of this Crucial 8GB. Now I thought everything was going good, I didn't notice any improvement in speed. What I did found out was in 1-2 hours of using it..... I got a "Memory Dump" screen. Now I have never had that screen every before since owing my Lenovo in Oct. 25, 2014 and with my current memory setup. So I was like... well lets give this a day or so and see what happens. I keep getting that Memory Dump screen, then once in a few hours, in the middle of working, my screen went black and all of my icons on my desktop got reorganized, that is another sign of a memory dumping. As I move things to my desktop that often happens in 1-2 hours. Never ever happened before with my other memory. Unfortunately I have to return this back to Amazon. I cannot do my work and have this happen to me every 1-2 hours. I thought my Kingston memory was cheap but guess what, I have had no memory dump. So I will just have to buy 32GB of Kingston DDR3 Non-ECC memory.
