What's the difference between this and the C-3?

The C-1 is a directional microphone, best used for vocals (singing, rapping) because it only picks up in one direction and ignores pretty much everything else. The C-3 is a Dual-Diaphragm Condenser mic, so it has 3 settings, it can pick up sound all around it, front back and then it has a similar setting to be used as a directional mic.Basically it gives you a few more options, but the C-1 is pretty good if you only want a directional mic.

Does this microphone plug into a xlr cable?

Yes. The only way to connect it is XLR. Requires phantom power.

I just got my Behringer C1 in the mail yesterday. I can't get it to work. I hooked it up to my Steinberg UR22 Audio Interface using a microphone cable that has an XLR/0.25 in. jack connection. The UR22 has +48 V phantom power. When I turn on the phantom power the red light that is supposed to light up doesn't light up.…

Take a look at the Behringer Xenyx 302 interface/mixer. If you look it up on the Behringer site and scroll down a bit, you'll see that the company pairs that interface with this particular microphone. You might consider purchase of the interface ($50) or make sure that the specs for the interface are part of the configuration you're currently using with this condenser mic. (If you purchase the interface from Amazon, you can return it (within 30 days) if it doesn't deliver the expected results.)
