I have already refloored the entire house and resolved to deal with the dog modified window ledges of the conservatory. My previous set square attempts at mitre cutting involved an expletive rate of 20 EPM and mitre edges that could sustain a bus service between them. Next came a mitre box that cut expletives per minute to four or five and managed perfect joins on small pieces of trim. Skirting board alas was back to divergent tracks and a few litres of caulk. I resolved to try these things on the window ledges. 250mm boards + fine saw + these new toys + enthusiasm + ineptitude = vaguely acceptable joins and minimal caulking. These are easy to use and quick. I doubt they are aimed at professional users so the results from an inept amateur are probably valid. My mitres were two or three degrees out and actually fell below the expletives threshold. Precision, no.
