Unpredictability is the law as Code Orange navigate through their distorted world. Title track 'I Am King' shifts from 'heavy' to 'hard to define' through the use of unorthodox guitar work/percussion and chaotic structure. Never gave this band much of a chance since they always just kind of sounded like a generic Converge rip off like so many bands are these days. Caught their live set at This Is Hardcore and the new material just sounded so cool, that I had to check out the record. They have definately found a cool dynamic with bringing in different rythems and the femal guitar players clean vocals on "Dreams In Intertia" and the bass sounds super chunky throughout. This album had a lot of hype coming into it, which I was skeptical of since their other stuff never impressed me, but this is definately a breath of fresh air to what is becoming a cliche sound.
