Learn how to target the weaknesses of an attacker and effectively exploit them in order to defend yourself! The 36 Deadly Bubishi Points explains the pressure point techniques found in the Bubishi , the ancient "Bible of Karate," and how recognizing them allows you to defend yourself against such attacks. This book closely examines these vital points and the science behind them, and the author fills a gap in general understanding of how the 36 vital points found in the Bubishi can be targeted using pressure point fighting techniques. While much has been written about the vital points and their medicinal importance, thanks to the popularity of practices such as acupuncture, martial research on the subject has been lacking. Cardwell discusses the vital points from the perspective of an experienced martial artistโincluding how the body's vital points are related to the 8 extraordinary vessels and 12 meridians which circulate energy throughout the body. Through detailed step-by-step instructions and over 96 photographs and illustrations, The 36 Deadly Bubishi Points shows how this knowledge can be employed in self-defense. Review: I gave it 5 stars. A MUST HAVE!!!
Although I have read the works of Patrick McCarthy and Erle Montaigue, I was often left with more questions than when I started. While it does help to have a basic/general TCM knowledge prior to reading this book, Mr. Cardwell offers a step-by-step breakdown to simplify one's understanding of pressure point striking. Citing reference material from both Eastern and Western methodologies, Mr. Cardwell delivers a comprehensive analysis designed to streamline tactics and strategy for pressure point applications. There are not many meridian pictures. Therefore I recommend having a meridian chart/diagram alongside as you read. Also, Mr. Cardwell does mention in the beginning of his book to begin on part 2 if you are not familiar with TCM. I strongly recommend the reader follow his advice.

Discusses common sense techniques, not sure anything new is revealed
Kick a guy in the crotch, poke him in the eye, neck hit. Basically it discusses techniques that are common sense.

Pressure Points
To understand this or these types of books you need to understand the human body in a deeper perspective, under Professor George Dillman started the process over 50 plus years ago. So I can honestly say that this is brilliant book in many ways.. I was a complete novice upto 20 years ago studying shotokan karate... But my knowledge is up there with the best.. This book is written extremely well and bearing in mind that his writing comes with the knowledge that George Dillman learned years ago. My Martial Arts has gone up big time... So get this book and learn more about what the human body can do.
