Neat product, even though Optane does make it pretty hot, and I have one laptop that can't power it. Not painfully hot btw, but worryingly hot for a thumb drive! And other nvme SSDs that don't use so much power should work in any to most laptops... but I just wanted to test it with Optane and see what properties Optane had though the USB 2 and 3 interfaces. Fun, quality product to enclose your nvme drive! ### ⭐⭐ sub-sata speeds on linux *by L***S on Reviewed in the United States on April 19, 2019* I tried using my brand new HP 1tb ssd (that on a modern linux box clocks in at about 3200MB/sec via hdparm) but with either usb port, I get about 425MB/sec. sata usually is closer to 500 or 550, so this isn't even up to normal sata speeds.system is an i7 box with latest linux, properly configured.also, trim is not supported via USB, so this really is not a very good chip (JMS583).
