As for the NOTATION, it is somewhat overloaded which makes reading sometimes a bit heavy-going, however there is no doubt that it helps the author to be precise. As for MATLAB, the examples included in the book are helpful, although there are not as many as it may have been expected from the book title. The author provides several interesting examples related to actual engineering problems, not to mention that every chapter ends with a helpful Real World Example.
