I was worried about the backpack being too small for school but it is plenty big and very sturdy. The front pocket is approx 1/3 the size of bag, so you can fit books in there, the main compartment is very roomy. The lunch bag fits a decent sized lunchbox and attaches to the front of the bag. I love that the lunch bag and the backpack are not the same print. The bottle is OK, my daughter uses a different one, but the side pocket is accommodating for regular sized water bottles. My daughter has been using it for a few months now and so far no scratches or cracks. Seems to be made well and of good material.
