The 2 cell variant takes 2 C-Cell Batteries, the 3 cell variant takes 3 C-Cell Batteries

It says imported in the description. I thought all maglites were made in the US?

The packaging says the flashlight was designed and manufactured in the USA but includes some imported components.

Does this model have the redesigned optics to eliminate the dark spot in the middle of the light beam?

When the beam is on focus = no dark spot. When you widen the beam = yes, a dark spots appears in the center.

Does the light rechargeable or not ?

No, it is not rechargeable. Takes 3 C cell batteries. I've had mine for a few months and absolutely love it.
