## Description

This special support belt is made specifically for expectant moms to help provide relief for strained muscles and ligaments. It effectively transfers the weight of the abdomen to the spine, where your body is better able to handle the weight. Elastic construction helps relieve pressure on the pelvis while supporting the abdomen. The soft, comfortable, hook-and-loop front pad provides additional lift. The reinforced, crisscross design effectively aids shoulder posture restoring appearance and reducing back strain. Velcro adjustments ensure a secure and comfortable fit. Size according to pre-pregnancy dress size: Small (3-8), Medium (9-14), Large (15-18), X-Large (19+). Inserts can be purchased to enhance the Mother-To-Be support belt.

## Features

- Relieves back pain -- Mother-To-Be relieves strain on muscles and ligaments by transferring the weight of the abdomen to the spine where it can be carried naturally. Relief is immediate.
- Relieves abdominal muscle and leg pain -- Mother-To-Be lifts and supports the abdomen, reducing pressure at the pelvis and improving circulation in the legs. Pressure on the sciatic nerve is relieved and sciatica is reduced within minutes.
- Stabilizes the Pelvic Ring -- The normal softening of ligament during pregnancy can cause discomfort, often as SI pain. Mother-To-Be gently compresses the pelvic ring, restoring its integrity and reducing pain.
- The Abdominal Lift Pad -- The large, cushioned Velcro pad is contoured to provide lift with no undesirable abdominal compression. Once the two ends of the support are attached, the weight of the enlarging abdomen is transferred back to the spine.
- Accepts Molded and Soft Lumbar inserts.

Is it me, or is NOTHING comfortable right now? Including this thing.

Okay, first the good news: I bought this based on other people's reviews that remarked that the brace is good especially for athletic type stuff you may want to continue (in moderation) while pregnant. And yes, for my 6 mile walks, it definitely holds my belly in place. Prior to getting it, I would get cramps on the sides of my belly from the motion of walking.I wanted it for work, too, because I get back aches while leaning forward to work at my desk for 8-10 hours. It turns out that this is not a good item for me because I use a stand/sit desk (tall for standing, with a really tall chair). The standing/sitting throughout the day, usually every 20 minutes, causes my pants to move around and end up bunching under the brace in a bulky way that I can't fix without taking the brace off entirely and putting it back on.I tried tightening the brace so that my pants will slide back over the top when I stand up, but I usually have to do some embarrassing belly brace, jeans and shirt lifting/fixing every time I change sitting positions.I think the problem is that if the brace is tight enough that my jeans slide over the top of it, it really feels like it's indenting on my lower belly. It makes me feel like it's not safe for the baby because it cuts so hard into my belly. The baby move a LOT when I have this thing on. I'm not sure that's good. Also, about 5 days after I bought it, one of the main seams is ripped about 4 of the 6 inches it takes up. The brace still functions, but it's barely holding together. I would return it to the manufacturer, but I am on a bit of a time crunch, and really don't have time to be returning things and watiting for replacements if the thing still works. But I have no idea how long it will hold together. To put the whole thing in context, I am 5'9" and I usually weight 150#. I doubt I am putting much duress on the belly brace with my height/weight proportions, so I don't understand why it ripped after 5 days and is so hard to use in general. My belly is big enough to need it and hold it down. I am measuring at 30 cm at 7 months and the darn thing still slides around.I have no idea if I'd recommend this product, since I don't know how other products measure up. I guess it works sometimes, but only if I'm not standing then sitting, then standing. So yes, if you are doing athletics or standing for long periods of time, this might be the brace for you.

    Helped with my sciatica

*by H***G on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on April 3, 2014*

I am 6 months pregnant and am a nurse working full time. I run around on my feet for nearly all of my 12+ hour shift. About a month ago I started having really painful sciatica which some days nearly dropped me to the ground. I searched the internet for what women were recommending. This is what I came up with. I was a little worried that it was less than decent quality as it looked like the product pictures were just taken in someone's house. The first day I used it, I did have some low back pain that was just a dull ache but low and behold, no sciatica! The next shift I used it, I did not have the low back pain from the first day nor did I have sciatica. It seems that I have found a good solution. My complaint however is that it takes a little extra time to take it off and put it one when you need to use the restroom. I suppose if you used it on bare skin maybe you could avoid that but I always have a thin layer of clothing in between the brace and my skin. All in all though, worth it!

Was recommended by my physical therapist

*by A***. on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on May 12, 2015*

Was recommended by my physical therapist. It provides great support but practicality of it leaves something to be desired. You have to wear it over clothing of some sort whether it is a camisole or the front panel of maternity jeans that you wear it with. I say this because the material is SUPER itchy and uncomfortable if you don't. However, be warned that if you wear it over the front panel of maternity jeans you will have to remove the ENTIRE BELT every time you use the restroom. Which, as all pregnant ladies can agree with, is often... I don't think it looks super bulky under clothing as some people suggest but of course if you are wearing a tight fitted top you will be able to see it. It does it's job in helping lift and support but it can be a total pain in the backside at the same time.
