This is a quality item that quite deserved a review.The sphere shape is perfect and fits into my average-sized hand very well. One word review - FIRMThe weight of the shift knob counteracts the resistance of the shifter well, resulting in even shift throws. OWR - SMOOTHThe quality of the part is top, and the entirety of the knob has no workmanship defects. The glow in the dark feature performs well; giving off a substantial amount of light for a few minutes. Afterwards the glow is dimmer and does last for a while. (Sorry, lack of time with the product doesn't allow for me to stay how long the glow lasts. may update...) OWR - QUALITYBonus is the adapters included are metal and should not strip without serious infliction. I would highly recommend this product. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Surprise gap between shift knob and shift boot is a disappointment I'm trying to resolve. *by F***8 on Reviewed in the United States on October 9, 2022* I have a replacement shift boot on order, which I didn't expect to need, and also looking into a jam nut.Color/effect:Unless you want a snowy white or ivory/off white, this is cool. It is ever so mildy hued like jade. If you've seen glow in the dark plastic stars or skeletons, you won't be surprised by the color in natural light.The glow in the dark effect is real world negligible, unless where you live, it goes from bright sun to dark night in less than 30 minutes. But there's no real cost premium. You could always shine a light on it for a few seconds, before driving or more likely "photo shoots."Installation issues:Fit on brass adapter is fine. Brass adapter is like a cup, so when fully tightened the shifter rod will be pushing on the bottom of the adapter, not jacking the phenolic. Overtightening could cause rotational stress on the bond between the adapter and the phenolic, though. I'm going to check hardware store for a jam nut, so ball can spin on firm but not overtight, then jam nut underneath, tightened upwards. This will also be a little dodgy, because the adapter does not sit proud of the phenolic, it is slightly recessed. So the jam nut will be pressuring against the phenolic.Gap:The factory shift boot is designed to rest under stock shifter, and I didn't think how the stock shifter has somewhat of a gooseneck built in. Now the shift boot looks like it's sagging, and there's a gaudy chromed prastic ring holding it not far enough up. Doh!There are products designed to fill the gap but they make it look like the ball is on a pedestal. That is not the effect I had in mind. My stock shift boot has a large diameter chromey ring, so I'm ordering one with a smaller black ring, and will mock up a short length of pvc or slit hose to wrap the shift rod above the retaining ring, so shift boot will reach the base of the shift ball. ### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars Not what I expected *by T***A on Reviewed in the United States on February 23, 2022* Was a easy install but I've had it for a good while now and since I got it, it doesn't glow how I expected.
