Thank you for your question. Yes, as long as the blade has a width of 1 1/2" or less (which is the maximum tool width the holder can take) then you can use the Tru-Grind Sharpening System to sharpen a hand plane blade.

Will this work with a 3" bench grinder?

Hi Jim, thank you for your question, to ensure the Woodcut Tru Grind can operate with your 3" Bench Grinder you will need to ensure that there is sufficient height for the base slide to fit under the grinding wheel.
