After being tired of adding a bunch of sauces and peppers to foods and having the spice be inconsistent at best, I decided to get this, and it's really good. It only takes a few drops to add a nice kick to food. How much really depends on your tolerance and how much you're making. I wouldn't go past 15 drops for a large sauce pan. For something less saucy like macaroni, I take 3-5 drops and mix it with a bit of milk in a cup, then dump it into the macaroni and mix it in with some added heat to cook off the added liquid. I wouldn't try adding this directly to less saucy or more solid foods, at least on it's own. It needs to be spread out. In such little quantities, it doesn't add any noticeable taste to food that I can tell. I'm a bit too wimpy to try it on it's own. It comes in a decent glass bottle, it's survived a few drops outside of the fridge, although the lid got cracked, but it's still keeping fine. For the price I was a bit unsure about the size, since $20 sounds a bit much for 5 oz, but it's lasted me this far, and likely longer. It's kept fine for all this time, not sure anything would want to grow in this spice. Although I did end up losing this bottle for a bit and got the Hellboy branded sauce variant before I ended up finding this again. If I had only just this one bottle, it would probably be empty by now, but that's still a very long time that it's lasted.
