Makita CT225R 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Compact Cordless 2-Pc. Combo Kit (2.0Ah)

A great all-around combination for about anything you have to do. Plenty of power from the supplied 2 amp-hr batteries. Higher amp batteries would last longer, of course, but make the tool heavy! The 2amp-hr batteries are a sweet spot for weight and time between charges. Recharge is quick, and the little led display on each battery shows you the life remaining. Most often, I set up one to drill the holes, the other to drive the fasteners. I want to "give it the beans", the chuckless impact driver delivers. I want finesse, I set the clutch accordingly on the other drill. I have used this setup for all manner of projects, large and small, for nearly a year. Never fails to deliver.

First I bought this Makita 1/2" drill and 1/4" impact driver set for myself. Very impressed. Strong drill, reliable driver. Never breaks a fastener, but can drive a 4-1/2" Torx head screw into 2x4's all day. Bought a second set for work. Bought a third set so I could have a set in the house and a set in the garage. Bought a fourth set as a Christmas gift for a friend. The Makita 18-volt system is the best. So many tools work. I have used the same 12V drill for about 15 years, so it was time for an upgrade. I realized what I’ve been missing all of these years and what a time-saver this combo set is. The drill is terrific and has great power, but the impact driver is the absolute winner. It’s the first time I’ve used one, but it just flies through screws. I was replacing deck boards that each took 18 screws, and it does it about 3x as fast as my old drill. No pilot holes were even necessary when drilling into 1” pressure treated lumber. The batteries really do charge in about 25 minutes, and the battery life is outstanding. The soft case is a little bulky — is rather have a hard, plastic case — but if that’s the worst thing about the set it’s a home run.

This item is the best item i ever bought from Amazon, these are the best drivers i ever used. The drivers are small, compact and light weighted, very easy to hold on hand and work for hours without any problem. Battery has power indicator, so you can check when it is getting empty so you can charge it. The drivers also contains a powerful led lights, which is very helpful when you work at night or in a dark place. The set also contains a fast charger, you can charge the battery in 20 minutes and work for hours. Excellent and very recommended set :)

Best gift ever, great carrying case, the drill and impact are reliable and still working, batteries are still going after 5 years of personal residential use. They hold their charge and haven’t noticed a drop yet. Speed and torque is powerful as you would expect from a high end drill and impact
