The rotating dies help ensure an accurate crimp every time, preventing improper connections that could lead to electrical failures. ### Applications This tool is particularly useful for those working with battery cables, power equipment, and in automotive or marine environments where heavy-duty wiring is needed. The tool is compatible with various copper and aluminum connectors, making it versatile across different tasks. ### Drawbacks Some users have noted that the tool can be a bit bulky for very tight spaces, and while it performs excellently for most crimping tasks, it may not always be ideal for finer, more delicate electrical work. ### Conclusion The iCrimp Battery Cable Lug Crimping Tool is a solid, reliable choice for those needing a sturdy and versatile crimper that can handle large gauge wires. Its heavy-duty construction, ease of use, and integrated wire cutter make it a go-to for demanding electrical projects.

exceeded my expectations. I used it to cut and crimp both 2 AWG and 6 AWG cables for our off-grid solar installation, and it made solid, professional-looking crimps every time. The cutter also worked great, making clean cuts with very little effort. The tool feels well-built, is easy to use, and gave me confidence that my battery cable connections were secure. If you're wiring a solar system or working with heavy-gauge battery cables, I would definitely recommend this set.

The cutter first, it’s so dull I was unable to cut #1 welding cable. Luckily I also have a very sharp Ancor cutter. UPDATE: I used a carbide rasp to put an edge on these, nice and sharp, didn’t help much. I got through a #1 cable but it took everything I had - the design gives you really poor mechanical advantage but they might be better if you have giant hands. The crimper works but I’m surprised how little force it takes to get it to the lock position (full crimp). I do not have any evidence that this in inadequate. I’ve used a hammer crimper for 10 years and of course with those you just bash it harder a bunch of times to get a crazy tight crimp. So, not a con. However it’s awful to get on the lug and crimp with only 2 hands, I bought this so I could crimp without taking the wire to the bench vise. Maybe I’ll get better at using it. I use flared barrel lugs so that flare functions as a stop for the tool to keep it on the lug as you get things set to pull the handles. If I didn’t have flared connectors I would HAVE to use a vice. Other than that I like it and it wasn’t much more than the hammer anvil was - the crimps are def prettier.

This is exactly what I expected. Great tool and good quality!

I bought this iCrimp tool to fix the battery cables and lugs on my Corolla and my Galant. It is a heavy-duty tool that makes a perfect, solid crimp every time. I love that the dies are built-in you just rotate them to the wire size you need (8 AWG all the way to 1/0) without having to swap out separate pieces. It takes a bit of muscle to squeeze, but the long handles give you great leverage. The connections feel factory-quality and have completely solved the starting issues I was having with my cars. If you do your own auto maintenance and want to stop messing with cheap, bolt-on terminals, this is the tool to get.
