Standard pitch is 440Hz but this item is 442Hz so it is more easy to do ensemble with another brand ocarinas. small hole is located in middle finger area. it is easier to play low note. this is rubber finish. By Ocarina player: Cris Gale / Texas USA They are all wonderful, and I am very happy to have them. The N/N plastic is definitely the best plastic ocarina I have ever tried.

I normally play brass instruments and piano. But I wanted something quieter and smaller and able to be played in outdoor settings, like my back porch and like a forest preserve. I had (and still have) difficulty learning reasonable fingerings. But I started playing simple tunes within a couple of days, so its not impossible. The instrument sounds great and makes me feel like I'm a turtle dove, lol. The craftsmanship is perfect, as I have come to expect from a Japanese company. The outside surface feels soft, though the instrument is made of a hard plastic. There must be some fancy chambering inside because it sounds beautiful, far better than the plastic recorder I bought some time ago. This was a fun gift for myself!

It sounds great, is compact but not hard to play with larger hands, and it's very durable. This is the best plastic oc on the market and I can't recommend it highly enough for those who want to stuff it in a pack or boat and not have to worry about water damage or cracks. Very satisfied with my purchase!

Ask anyone in the Ocarina community what Ocarina to start with and this is probable the one they'll recommend. It sounds great, costs very little all things considered, and is fun. Quality and consistency of the product is excellent, soft touch plastics are great, and the weight is amazing (i.e. very light.) If you're on the fence about what Ocarina to buy, this is the one!
