These small 1/4" Avery Color-Coding Permanent Round Labels likely work perfectly for the use for which they were designed; that of color coding files. I however purchased them to use to mark shots on a paper target at the shooting range. I wanted black or white; couldn't find either, so I settled on dark blue. They were much less expensive than the larger item designed specifically to mark the holes in the paper target, but small round stickers work exactly the same. The work actually better because they are smaller, but visible and less intrusive. The sticky is adequate. The size worked great.
