What is the max size light that would mount?** A: Considering your electrical box is going to be mounted into the wall behind this. And, given this is 6 1/2-inches wide; the biggest light base would not be any bigger than 6-inches around. Bear in mind that the mounting holes for your light are going to be 4-inches apart so it can be mounted to the electrical box. This cover is going to be fixed over the electrical box not the light itself. The center hole is going to be cut out for your wires and mounting stem. **Q: How does this attach to the siding? Does it screw in or cause other damage?** A: Yes you must secure through the siding usually I use the light or whatever I am mounting to hide those screws. Also I use stainless screws to avoid the rust stain on the siding from standard ones. **Q: I need to remove the center 1". how do i do this without cracking or breaking the mounting block? do i punch it out? or do i need to cut it out?** A: This product is for surface mount solar lights that require no wiring if you have a hard wire fixture I would get a standard light block with built in J-channel and cut the siding to avoid water issues all that being said the best way to cut a hole would be with a dremel tool with straight cut bit **Q: what size of siding gap is needed ... my siding is 5/8" lap** A: It’s 5/8” gap.
