Review: Great replacement patches for Otis system - Great patches especially when you get them on sale. If you own an Otis cleaning kit and like the way the system works, then these are a must have. They do a fantastic job of cleaning your barrels and can go down multiple times with the same patch. My only complaint is these patches require you to learn how to fold them correctly to properly utilise every square inch. Its not complicated to learn, but adds some complexity and time to the process. I tried these on my .177 and it was extremely tight. It actually got stuck I had to push a rod down and then hammer it until it came out. Definetley not suitable for .177s like the description says. Works great with my .22lr and 9mm. Pros: - Thick and absorbent patches - Container keeps them organised and takes up little room Cons: - Expensive compared to other patches that you can buy in large bulk Review: Good for tight areas inside the chamber. - I bought these to go with the locking tweezers that I bought to get into the tight areas inside of the chamber on my firearms. These work just fine and the name brand is a known one. ## Features - Cotton 2" patches - Designed to clean .17- .223cal firearms by its proprietary patch method - Each patch can be used up to 6 times, offering 6 new cleaning surfaces - Form a perfectly circular cleaning swab to allow for 360 degree coverage - Proudly Made in the USA ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B000E5BD7K | | Brand | Otis | | Brand Name | Otis | | Customer Reviews | 4.7 out of 5 stars 946 Reviews | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00014895009239 | | Included Components | Cleaning Patches | | Included components | Cleaning Patches | | Item Type Name | Patch, For Small Caliber, 100 Per Pack | | Manufacturer | Otis | | Manufacturer Part Number | OT918-100 | | Model Number | FG-918-100 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Set Name | 100 Patches | | UPC | 014895009239 | | Unit Count | 1.0 count | | Unit count | 1.0 count | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Otis - **Included components:** Cleaning Patches - **Manufacturer:** Otis - **Set Name:** 100 Patches - **Unit count:** 1.0 count ## Images ![Technology Small Caliber Patches (100) (FG-918-100) - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61U-vocVrLL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: Could I use these to clean my 30-30 and 30-.06?** A: These patches are not designed for 30 cal use as they are made to use only up to 25 cal. I would opt for larger ones for the calibers you desire to properly clean. **Q: This wont fit a 12 gauge will it? have rifle and shotgun cleaning kit. should i get "all caliber" patches?** A: .223 patches are much smaller than what is needed for a 12 gauge. My recommendation is to buy patches for specific calibers or a family; e.g., .30 cal for 7.62, 300, 308, etc. .45s & .38 (.357 et al). Or you could buy large patches & medium patches in bulk and cut them down as needed. Personally, I do not really like the patches which are available in todays market, which seem to be some type of synthetic. I would like to use all cotton, preferably a flannel. Todays patches seem to require a lot of product to achieve a clean barrel. **Q: The video demonstration hookup seemed only for "pulling" the patch through the cylinder, no?** A: Correct, it is designed to be pulled through the barrel in the same direction that the projectile travels. **Q: Are these 1 1/4" round patches?** A: These patches are 2 inches in diameter. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great replacement patches for Otis system *by S***B on 9 February 2017* Great patches especially when you get them on sale. Pros: - Thick and absorbent patches - Container keeps them organised and takes up little room Cons: - Expensive compared to other patches that you can buy in large bulk ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good for tight areas inside the chamber. *by R***D on 3 August 2026* I bought these to go with the locking tweezers that I bought to get into the tight areas inside of the chamber on my firearms. These work just fine and the name brand is a known one. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ These are stock Otis patches *by H***R on 6 April 2014* If your going to use otis cleaning products then use only otis products with the cleaning systems because they are made to work together perfectly, once you figure out how to correctly attach the patches to the slotted tips your golden because they give 360 degree coverage every pass through the bore and each patch can be used up to six separate passes per patch by using each slot once and then turn the patch over and use the same three slots in the patch again, so you can really maximize your use of each patch which actually saves you money this way. There isn't any bad points I can think of about these patches other then the price is a little high at almost $10.00 per 100 patches but if you use each patch 6 times it's almost like your getting 600 patches worth of use.... Anyway these are a must have item when your initial stock that came with your cleaning kit runs out and I have a fairly large gun collection and I'm always cleaning one or another so it helps to be able to use each patch more then once BC ## Frequently Bought Together - Otis Technology Small Caliber Patches (100) (FG-918-100) - Otis Technology Cleaning Patches (Select Your Size) - Otis Technology Microfiber Gun Cloths (Select Your Quantity) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.in/products/137000517-technology-small-caliber-patches-100-fg-918-100](https://www.desertcart.in/products/137000517-technology-small-caliber-patches-100-fg-918-100) --- *Product available on Desertcart India* *Store origin: IN* *Last updated: 2026-10-21*
