Because the fan/heatsink unit affixes directly to the CPU with its own thermal pad it goes a long way in resolving the new model's unique cooling requirements. If and where to place the two heatsinks on the new model for best effect will be a matter for experimentation, but that's where the fun comes in, right?The kit is also suitable for the Pi 2, 3B and 3B+ where the fan unit can be fixed to the CPU using the thermal pad and the other heatsinks attached as per the usual method for each model.
