Does anyone have experience with this sharpening S30v steel?

This ceramic will sharpen anything softer than ceramic. I am not sure of the chemical composition of S30v steel. I am not sure of the Rockwell hardness of the blade you are trying to sharpen. I am sure that this will sharpen most any steel.

is this concidered Medium grit rod? generally those are dark colored. I am looking for a med grit. nopt fine. thanks for your help anyone

This is a MEDIUM GRIT ceramic sharpening rod. From Lansky's site: "The Lansky 8" Ceramic Sharp Stick features a wood grip handle. Just a few strokes with this medium grit ceramic rod every few times you use your knife, is all you need to keep your knives sharp and ready."

What is the diameter of the rod?

5/16 or 9/16 is a pretty big difference. And it matters when shopping for a bread knife serrated sharpener. And I'm not discounting either answer but it would be helpful if the item description actually stated what the rod diameter is, a lot of rods out there do.
