There is a range of ideal settings for any brewing method, since light and dark roasts tend to fragment differently. For French press (coarse grind), I have had good results with 9-13 clicks from the finest setting (9=light roast; 13=French roast). For Melitta manual drip pour-over (fine grind), I get good results with 5-8 clicks, depending upon the bean. I used 7 clicks for a medium roasted Ethiopian bean the other day and brewed some of the best coffee I've ever had. Hope this helps. **Q: Can you dispense the coffee directly into an Aeropress coffee maker?** A: It fits perfectly inside the Aeropress, and then you can use the Aeropress stirrer as a little mallet to tap the bottom of the grinder chamber to release all of the grounds. The grinder just doesn't bite into the beans and spins without any effect. For general purpose (ground coffee) into Turkish - about 5 minutes.
